The Star Garden

Mia lives in a small village among green hills, where her days are filled with helping those around her: bringing water to old Mr. Thomas, sharing her lunch with anyone hungry, and keeping company with her little bird friend Pip, who wears a blue ribbon on his leg. One sunny afternoon she follows Pip up a winding path and climbs a staircase of fluffy white clouds to a secret garden floating above the sky, where tiny stars grow on silver branches like sparkling fruit.

There she meets an old star gardener with pale silver-blue skin and a star-speckled robe, who is too weary to tend the garden himself. He explains that the stars only grow when someone is kind, and hands Mia a wooden watering can. This gentle tale by Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN follows Mia as her small acts of kindness spread through the village and the star garden blooms again. It can be read on Online Masal and is a warm story about kindness to share aloud with children, parents or teachers.
