Merrow, a young mermaid, spends her days exploring coral reefs and gathering tiny shells for her necklace in the bright blue sea. One morning she swims farther than usual and catches a soft melody drifting through the water. She follows it to a rusty old anchor half-buried in the sand, covered in moss and barnacles, humming a tune that seems to come from long ago. Curious about what the song means, Merrow decides to seek help from someone wise.
She visits Old Coral, a whale historian living near the great trench who keeps a satchel of kelp-paper scrolls. Together they listen as the anchor recalls the songs of a sailor who once sailed these waters, each tune marking a part of his journey. As the anchor sings of storms, whales, faraway islands and missing home, Merrow and Old Coral write the songs down and plan to share them with all sea creatures through a concert. This gentle underwater tale by Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN follows Merrow's curiosity and her growing sense that music and history are meant to be shared, and it can be read on Online Masal.
