In Willowbrook Village, the old brass bell in the tall bell tower marks each day for everyone. Eight-year-old Lily, who calls herself a detective and carries a magnifying glass and a notebook, cares about that bell more than most. One morning it stays silent, and she finds the bell is gone from the tower. With her little dog Pip beside her, she begins to look into the mystery, following cart tracks and a thread snagged on a bush.

Her patience and close attention to detail bring her to the old repair shop at the edge of the village. There she meets Grandpa Elias, the bell keeper, who explains what happened to the bell and why he acted as he did. Lily comes to understand that the truth is often kind and that careful detective work takes patience and observation. Written by Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN, this gentle story about curiosity and community can be read on Online Masal.
