The Friendship Telescope

Oliver feels lonely on his porch steps after his best friend Emma moves far away, leaving the house next door empty. Missing her laugh and the cookies she shared, he explores the attic and finds a brass telescope with a note saying it is for looking at friends far away. Peering through it, he sees Emma in her new room, looking just as sad as he feels. The telescope only shows pictures, so he cannot speak with her, but the note inspires him to write her a letter.

Days pass without a reply, and Oliver worries Emma has forgotten him. He writes again with a joke, and at last a lavender envelope arrives; Emma misses him too and suggests they become pen pals. Their letters share stories of new friends, pets and school, and the telescope shows them laughing as they read. This heartwarming tale by Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN shows how simple communication can bridge any distance, and it can be read on Online Masal.
