The Secret Blueprints

On a rainy afternoon, Max climbs the creaky stairs to his big, dusty attic with his scruffy dog Pip at his heels, hoping to find adventure. Inside a forgotten trunk, he discovers a roll of yellowed papers tied with string: old blueprints for a rainwater collector, complete with careful drawings of gears, pipes and a big barrel. Max loves building things, and this is the best find he has ever made. He studies the plans all evening and decides the machine can be brought back to life, even if some parts look tricky.

With the blueprints in his canvas satchel, Max visits the workshop of Rosa, the neighbourhood mechanic, whose shop smells of oil and metal. Rosa recognises the plans as a piece of history and agrees to help. Together they gather an old wooden barrel, copper pipes and a rusty crank, then work step by step through the frame, the funnel and pipes, the sealed tank and the tap. Mistakes happen along the way, and Rosa teaches Max that every inventor makes them. This story by Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN follows a hands-on project that rewards patience, careful measuring and teamwork, and it can be read on Online Masal.
