In the busy town of Cobbleton, where the streets carry the smell of fresh bread and leather, a young shoemaker named Oliver spends his days doing what he loves most: making shoes. With a measuring tape always around his neck, he hears that King Aldric will name the finest craftsman in the land Royal Shoemaker, and he knows the contest will be fierce. Fancy boots and silk slippers are sure to fill the square, so Oliver looks for a different idea.
His inspiration comes from next door, where Mabel the goose wears tiny knitted booties that are too tight. Oliver kneels to study her wide webbed feet and listen to what they need, then visits the farmyard to measure a duck, a rabbit, a pony and a prowling cat, stitching a different pair for each wearer. This gentle tale by Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN follows his careful listening and hands-on measuring, and it can be read on Online Masal.
