Mira cares about the night sky more than anything else, and each evening she carries her brass telescope and a warm cup of tea up to the observatory on her roof. One night a small parcel waits at her door: a palm-sized teapot with a round belly, glossy black eyes and a red knitted scarf tied around its middle. Set on her desk, it starts to puff steam unlike any other, and within that mist tiny glowing stars, swirling galaxies and familiar constellations take shape.
Mira first takes the little teapot for a trick or a toy, yet the patterns soon grow clearer and match her star charts exactly. She sketches the Big Dipper, the Whirlpool Galaxy and Orion's Belt, then brings her drawings to Professor Orin at the university. Curiosity turns into serious study as she reads, draws charts and spends long hours at her telescope, while the teapot offers encouragement and fresh patterns. Written by Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN, this gentle tale about wonder and close observation can be read on Online Masal.
