In the green valley of Bramblewood, an old windmill stands on a hill, its wooden blades motionless through the day. Yet each evening, even when the air is calm, the blades begin to turn. Daniel, a small boy with messy black hair and a mustard yellow sweater, watches from his window and wonders. One evening he climbs the hill, pushes open the creaky door, and learns that the windmill catches whispers carried from far away. Old Tomas, the keeper, tells him that some whispers bring happy news while others ask for help, and only a careful listener can understand them.
Daniel returns with his friend Mira, and together they hear a shaky voice: a traveler is lost near the big oak. Writing down every clue, they set out at sunrise with Daniel's sparrow Pip scouting ahead. This gentle tale by Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN is written for young readers and for anyone reading aloud to them, and it can be read on Online Masal.
