In the green forest, where sunlight plays across the leaves, there lives a fox named Velvet. His fur is the colour of ripe berries and feels as soft as velvet cloth, his chest and muzzle are creamy white, and his amber eyes shine with kindness. Every creature who passes stops to admire his glossy coat and his big fluffy tail with its snowy tip. Yet Velvet wants something more: he loves telling stories, but whenever he starts, the others only praise his shiny fur and drift away before listening. His ears droop and he sighs that they see only his coat.
One morning Velvet finds a small woven leaf pendant on a vine cord and places it around his neck. He hurries to the clearing where Pip the rabbit, Bramble the bear and Hazel the owl gather. When a fierce storm drives them into the hollow of the great oak, fear fills the small space, and Velvet softly asks whether they would like to hear a story. This heartwarming tale by Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN explores looking beyond appearances and can be read on Online Masal.
