In a small shop on a rainy street, a tall basket holds a collection of umbrellas by day. Once the shopkeeper locks the door and the lights go out, these umbrellas awaken and practice their circus routines. Big Red, the tallest of them all, leads as ringmaster with a tiny gold ring and a striped bow tie. Lacey, dressed in cream lace, balances on a thread tightrope, while Gustav, broad and sturdy with a star patch, hoists the others with his oak shaft. Little Pip, whose sky-blue canopy is dotted with white, watches with round amber eyes and longs to take part.

Pip attempts to balance and lift like the rest, but he wobbles and proves too light, which leaves him feeling left out and convinced he has no talent. Then a drop of rain from a leaky ceiling falls on his canopy, and Pip finds he can make water dance by tilting this way and that. Lacey urges him to show Big Red, yet Big Red doubts that water tricks belong in an acrobatics show. This gentle tale by Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN explores unique talents and teamwork, and it can be read on Online Masal.
