In the village of Sunnymead, the spring celebration fills the square with banners, fresh pies and bright clothes. Tilly, a small girl with curly black hair and a chalk bag at her belt, notices a tall boy in a star-covered purple robe preparing a magic show. Marlo is only twelve, his orange hair messy and his pointed hat far too big, and when he attempts a spell of happy cheering, his wand slips and the words tumble out tangled. A flash of purple light sweeps the square, and suddenly no one's words mean what they should.
As confusion spreads, Marlo's apologies sound just as scrambled, and his spellbook offers no help. Tilly watches with patient, observant eyes and sees that pictures and gestures still work perfectly. The tale by Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN follows the two children and the people of Sunnymead as they slow down and find a way to understand one another again. Warm village magic and gentle lessons about patience and kindness run through the story, which can be read on Online Masal.
