In a mountain workshop filled with bells of every size, the old bellmaker Mr. Bellamy teaches his young apprentice Pip that each bell has a heart and a voice of its own. Pip, a curious ten-year-old with curly ginger hair, sweeps the floor, sorts tools, and dreams of making a bell himself. When Mr. Bellamy finally lets him pour metal into a mold, the boy discovers the clear, bright voice of a bell he helped create.
Pip soon notices that when the wind blows just right, bells answer one another from far across the valleys. With Mr. Bellamy's guidance he learns to recognize each voice, writes their names in a little notebook, and helps hang the bells in towers along the ridges where they watch over the villages. This gentle tale by Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN explores craftsmanship, listening, and responsibility, and can be read on Online Masal.
