Lily is a curious girl who loves to draw more than anything else. One night, after finishing a picture of a castle, a river and a smiling sun, she leaves her big pencil case open and falls asleep in her star pajamas. As soon as her eyes close, twelve colored pencils wiggle, stretch and hop out, marching across the desk to a blank sheet of paper to draw a kingdom of their own.
Each pencil insists that its own color should rule, and nobody listens to anybody. Green draws grass over Azure's ocean, Orange sketches a leaning tower, Purple wanders off halfway through a castle door, and Sunny's sun lands sideways with three corners. The paper grows crowded and confusing, and the twelve pencils stare at buildings that stop in mid-air and roads that lead nowhere.
