One bright Monday morning, Ruby puts on her mustard-yellow raincoat and steps outside to find that every number in her town has disappeared. Street signs are blank, the tower clock has lost its hands, and the bakery calendar shows nothing but empty squares. At school no one can count, and at the grocery store the shopkeeper is unable to set a price. A tiny glowing note in her blue backpack urges her to follow the puzzles, and a shimmering path of digits leads her into the hollow of an old oak tree.

There she meets Zero, a small round creature with a pale-blue glowing body and a silver crown, who explains why the numbers went away. To bring them home, Ruby must work through three puzzles and then face a final test at Grandpa Pete's bakery. Written by Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN, this gentle tale about counting, measuring and fair sharing can be read on Online Masal and suits children learning their first numbers along with the adults reading beside them.
