In a small village where cobblestone lanes meet green fields, an apple tree has stood in the orchard for more than two hundred years. Nine-year-old Daniel loves this orchard above all places and spends each autumn helping his grandfather, Grandpa Elias, gather apples. One crisp morning he notices a few apples glowing faintly like tiny lanterns, and his grandfather explains that they appear only when the tree has a secret to share.

When Daniel picks one, he finds a rolled paper hidden in the core, and the message sends him and his friend Mira on a search through the village. The first clue leads to the old stone mill by the stream, where the children discover a faded recipe card for Grandma Rose's Apple Cake, once baked by Daniel's great-great-grandmother for every village celebration. A second glowing apple points them toward flat stones at the bend of the brook. Written by Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN, this gentle tale about curiosity and family history can be read on Online Masal.
