In the village of Silverbrook, spring has always been announced by the deep sound of a giant bell hidden inside Silver Mountain. This year, however, the first day of spring passes in silence. Clara, a brave nine-year-old explorer with bright green eyes and a gap-toothed grin, loves that bell. Her grandpa Elias, the village bell keeper, tells her sadly that a two-hundred-year-old tradition is fading. Clutching her brass compass, Clara promises to discover why the bell has gone quiet.
With rope, a lantern and a notebook in her canvas satchel, Clara climbs the rocky slope and slips through a narrow crack in the rock. Inside, she finds a dim, glittering cave and meets Pip, who explains that the bell's mechanism is stuck deep in the mountain. Guided through crystal-lined tunnels, Clara reaches the enormous golden bell and the ancient builder elders, who need help with a giant gear jammed by a fallen rock. This gentle tale by Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN follows her efforts to clear the rock and repair worn parts, and can be read on Online Masal.
