Polly the parrot lives in a tall oak tree at the forest's edge, her emerald feathers and golden chest standing out against the leaves. On a breezy morning she discovers a map made of golden leaves stitched with spider silk, and it shows a winding path to a secret fruit grove deep in the woods. She tucks it under her wing and sets off to follow it.
Along the way she meets Bramble the bear, Twitch the rabbit and Hoot the owl, who are tired and worried because the forest holds few fruits this year and winter is approaching. Polly shows them the map and the four travel on together, with Twitch scouting ahead, Bramble carrying his straw basket, Hoot reading the map and Polly guiding from above. This tale by Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN can be read on Online Masal, where young readers follow the friends across a rushing stream, through a tangle of vines and past an old stump as they help one another along the difficult path.
