The Paper Elephant

In a large green garden where flowers nod and bees hum, a little elephant folded from pale grey paper takes its first step. Standing no taller than a knee, it has floppy ears, soft blue eyes and a tiny red heart crease on its chest, and it sets out to explore the world around it.

On its way the small paper elephant meets a paper rabbit wearing a green bow, a bright yellow paper bird, and a slow, wise paper turtle who warns that rain is coming. When the first fat raindrops fall, the paper friends begin to droop and fear they will turn to mush. This gentle story by Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN follows the little hero through one rainy afternoon, showing young readers how courage and kindness can go hand in hand. It is a warm tale for reading aloud at bedtime, and it can be found on Online Masal.
