In the cheerful town of Willowdale, the spring festival is about to begin, and it always opens with a rainbow over the hill. This year, however, the rainbow is nowhere to be seen. Theo, a curious boy with round glasses and a magnifying glass, joins his bluebird friend Pip to find out what has happened. He notices the air feels unusually dry and remembers that rainbows need sunlight and tiny water droplets.

With help from Mrs. Pearl, the festival organizer, Theo tests his idea by making a miniature rainbow using a watering can and sunlight. He then explains to the townspeople that a gentle rain is needed to fill the air with droplets. The story introduces young readers to the science behind rainbows while highlighting curiosity, observation and community. Written by Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN, this tale can be read on Online Masal.
