The Little Shadow Detective

In the small village of Willowbrook, nine-year-old Emma fills her days with mysteries, aided by her notebook, a toy magnifying glass and her scruffy terrier Pip. One sunny afternoon behind the old village theater, she spots dusty mirrors leaning against a wall and shadows on the ground that appear to wriggle and sway although nobody is moving. Where others might sense something haunting, Emma sees a case worth investigating.

As talk of the strange shadows spreads, Mayor Hattie worries they are ghosts, and Grandpa Joe remembers old stories about the theater mirrors but has never seen them act this way. Emma stays calm and methodical, observing how the shadows shift when clouds pass over the sun, sending Pip to sniff for clues and testing her ideas with a flashlight after dark. This tale by Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN follows a young detective who trusts observation and evidence over rumor, and it can be read on Online Masal.
