Sophie spends her time at the kitchen table building a paper city, folding pointed-roof houses, taping painted roads and arching cardboard bridges over rivers of blue paper. After she says goodnight to its tiny windows and goes to bed, the city comes alive by morning, with thumb-sized citizens walking its streets. Pip, the mayor in a green vest, welcomes her, and a shy paper girl named Lulu shows her around, while Grandpa Fold shares the old paper-craft wisdom that strong folds make strong houses. Sophie is proud of what she has made.
Then her elbow knocks over a glass of water, and a flood rushes through the painted streets. Sophie scoops up as many paper people as she can with a spoon, but houses soak through and the cardboard bridge sags. Among the wet scraps, Grandpa Fold points out that the city needs houses with wide bottoms and thick walls, and Sophie realizes that building something is only half the work. This gentle tale by Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN follows her as she learns about care, responsibility and teamwork, and it can be read on Online Masal.
