In the green heart of the jungle, a little monkey named Miko lives in a tall fig tree and delights in making things with his nimble fingers. Finding a shiny needle and a spool of vine thread, he sets out to become a tailor and sew raincoats so his friends stay dry in the jungle rain. His first customer, Tilly the tiny tree frog with huge golden eyes, requests a cape, and Miko measures her with vine and stitches a small blue one that looks just right.

When the tropical storm comes, the rain soaks straight through. Miko does not give up; he watches how broad rainforest leaves shed water and studies their shapes. Bumba the young elephant asks for the biggest raincoat, and Olive the toucan points out a leaky hood and suggests watching how leaves overlap.
