In a snug village set among snowy hills, winter has come and the animals are busy getting ready for the big winter festival. Pip, a young fox with bright orange fur, a sky-blue scarf and a little brown satchel, treasures the festival above all, especially the ice sculptures that glitter like diamonds. This year he chooses to carve a sculpture of his own rather than simply help, and his best friend Toby, a cream-colored rabbit in a red woolly hat and green mittens, hops along to assist. Old Mrs. Bramble the badger points out that patience belongs to art.

Pip chips away slowly and carefully, shaping a graceful swan, a sleek fox, a leaping fish and a tall pine tree. Then a warm sunny morning brings a worrying drip, drip, drip, and his sculptures start to melt. With quiet words from Mrs. Bramble and a look inside his sketchbook, Pip begins to understand where art truly lives. Written by Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN, this gentle winter story can be read on Online Masal and invites children to see how patience, careful work and teamwork can turn a disappointment into a fresh idea.
