In a small village surrounded by snowy hills, winter arrives with a fierce howl, and nine-year-old Mira watches the lights flicker in her cozy home. Wearing her red knitted sweater with snowflake patterns, she feels snug until the lights go out, plunging the entire village into darkness and silence. Mira then remembers the special story candle in the attic—a family treasure that only glows when stories are told. She climbs the creaky stairs and brings the candle downstairs. When she whispers 'Once upon a time...', the candle bursts into a warm, golden glow, and a tiny sparkle dances in the air. But Mira soon learns that the light will go out unless stories keep being told.

Word spreads quickly, and neighbors knock on the door, drawn by the strange, bright light. Soon, the room is full of people—children, parents, and grandparents—all seeking warmth and company. Grandpa Tomas arrives, remembering the story candle from his boyhood. Everyone gathers in a circle, and Mira holds the candle high. Little Pip tells a funny tale about a snowman who wants to be a baker, and the candle flares brighter. A tiny story sprite named Luna appears, growing stronger with each giggle. Grandpa Tomas shares an old village tale, and shy Eliza tells about a magic paintbrush. Each story makes the candle burn brighter, and Luna grows more visible. As the night goes on, villagers take turns telling stories—funny, scary (but not too scary), and happy. The candle never dims, and the room fills with laughter and warmth.
