The Lantern Badger

Bram the badger lives at the edge of the great forest with his grandfather, helping tend the garden and gather firewood. His favorite time is evening, when Grandfather shares stories about the forest's secret ways. One chilly evening, Grandfather gives Bram an old brass lantern that reveals hidden paths, warning him that paths must be cared for. Bram promises to take good care of it. This gentle tale by Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN follows a young badger who learns that a gift can carry both wonder and duty.

That night, Bram lights the lantern and follows a glowing path deep into the forest. Along the way, he meets Pip, a squirrel with a yellow pom-pom hat, who joins him. They discover a lonely village whose inhabitants have lost touch with their neighbors. Mayor Hazel, a tall hare, explains that the old trails have grown over and winter will soon block everything. Bram realizes the lantern can help find and reopen the old paths, and with Pip and Mayor Hazel he sets out to clear the trails. The story can be read on Online Masal.
