The Frost King

King Flurry is only eight years old, yet he rules a snug castle at the edge of a village and keeps a special secret: a wiggle of his fingers makes snow fall from the sky. With his fluffy white hair, snowflake freckles and royal blue winter coat, he adores winter above all, and the villagers smile when his light sprinkles dust their rooftops like a picture postcard. But one gray morning his excitement takes over, and he waves his hands until the snow will not stop.

By the following day the roads are gone, the square is one giant snowdrift, and people and animals are shut in their homes. A small lost fox kit named Pip, hungry in the deep snow, shows Flurry how big his mistake really is. With kind Gran Milla and eager Tobin beside him, the young king must gather the villagers, dig out the paths and carry food to the rabbits and deer hiding in the forest.
