In a forest, under a giant fern, there is a tiny kingdom ruled by a princess named Fern. Her realm is no larger than a ladybug's wing, but it is full of activity: ants travel along leaf paths, beetles roll little balls, and spiders weave silver webs. Fern, wearing an acorn-cap crown, governs with kindness and a brave voice. Her dearest friend is Bramble, an orange-and-violet butterfly who carries messages through the forest using a small grass harness.
One day Bramble brings troubling news: humans are marking a new walking path that would pass directly through the fern kingdom. Although the humans are enormous and frightening, Fern holds that even the smallest voice deserves to be heard. With a rainbow of butterflies carrying her and a glowing seed-pod lantern in her hand, she sets out to speak for her subjects. She meets Pip, a seven-year-old girl helping her uncle, Ranger Oak, and the two become unexpected allies. Written by Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN, this gentle tale can be read on Online Masal.
