In Willowbend, letters are vanishing from signs around the village: the bakery shows only "B-D," the school has lost its L, and the park its P. Mira, a quick nine-year-old in a sunflower-yellow raincoat, notices first, and her curiosity leads her to the Dictionary Fairy, a tiny winged figure with silver-lilac hair and a miniature leather dictionary on a ribbon. The fairy explains that words are disappearing everywhere and asks for Mira's help, since words are like friends and should not vanish.
Mira brings in Toby, a shy seven-year-old who collects big words on scraps of paper, and together they seek out Grandpa Ollie, a retired teacher whose garden is full of winding paths. The fairy suggests a storytelling festival so that words full of wonder will want to return. Written by Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN, this gentle tale follows the children as they prepare posters, practice new words, and invite the village to gather under the old story-oak. It can be read on Online Masal.
