The Crystal Snowman

On a cold winter morning, Mika dresses in her red pompom hat, mustard yellow coat and blue mittens and hurries out into the sparkling snow. Rather than shaping an ordinary snowman, she packs snow together with glittering ice crystals until the figure shines like a gem. When the sun appears, the snowman opens his coal eyes and introduces himself as Crystal, a small crystal heart glowing softly in his chest. A new friendship begins, and the two set off to enjoy everything the season offers.

Together they raise a snow fort with towers and a secret door, skate on the frozen pond, make snow angels side by side and share hot cocoa beneath the stars. Crystal listens closely as Mika talks about pancakes, her dog and summer days, and he confesses he would like to see summer, though both understand what warmth will bring. This gentle tale by Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN explores friendship, imagination and living in the moment, and can be read on Online Masal.
