The Blueberry Moon

In the heart of the forest, a clever badger named Barnaby spots a rare blue moon rising. Wearing his wire-rimmed spectacles and carrying a leather satchel, Barnaby enjoys puzzles and helping his friends, and on this special night he senses that surprises are coming. Meanwhile, Pip the rabbit finds that the blueberries in the patch are glowing with a magical light. He races off to tell everyone, and soon the forest animals gather to marvel at the sight.

As the animals celebrate and taste the glowing berries, Barnaby urges caution, but his friends are too excited to listen. Strange creatures emerge from the shadows to nibble the berries, and the animals worry their treat will be eaten. Barnaby calmly observes and takes notes, while Hoot the owl suggests the blue moon's light is causing the glow. Together they realize the visitors are only hungry and curious. This gentle tale by Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN explores curiosity, careful observation and sharing, and can be read on Online Masal.
