High in the snowy mountains, a cheerful yeti named Yuki spends his mornings smiling at the sparkling world outside his icy cave. His soft fur is pale blue on his hands and feet, he wears a red knitted scarf, and a moss-green satchel hangs at his side. He loves the snow, yet he keeps wondering what it might be like to grow something green. One bright morning the jolly merchant Mira arrives with a basket of tropical seed packets from faraway jungles, and Yuki trades a bundle of soft moss for a handful of tiny, shiny seeds.

Yuki plants mango, papaya, hibiscus and bird-of-paradise seeds in the thinnest snow near his cave, watering them with melted snow and whispering to them each day. The soil stays cold and bare, and he starts to think he has done something wrong. Doctor Fern, a botanist studying alpine plants, examines the ground with her magnifying glass and explains what the seeds really need. This gentle tale by Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN follows Yuki through slow waiting and small daily care, and it can be read on Online Masal.
