Ember is a small dragon, no bigger than a large cat, with sandy-orange scales, a cream-colored belly, and wings too tiny for flight. He lives in a hot, dry desert where the sun blazes all day, and he often feels thirsty, tired, and cross. One morning he wakes with a dry throat and sets out across the dunes in search of water, but the sand stretches endlessly with no river, lake, or puddle anywhere.
On his journey Ember meets three desert animals who each share something useful. Camille the camel demonstrates how to sip water slowly rather than gulp it, Liza the lizard shows him a cool shady spot beneath a large rock for resting during the hottest hours, and Ratty the kangaroo rat explains his habit of staying underground by day and emerging at night while needing very little water. Written by Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN, this gentle story follows Ember as he tries to change his habits, and young readers can find it on Online Masal.
