Maya, Theo and June construct a modest treehouse in a large oak, working from a blueprint with a hammer and snacks at hand. It turns into their own secret spot after school, a place for games, birdwatching and shared jokes. Then June spots Sam, a new neighbor, sitting by himself on the fence and asks him to join; shy at first, he climbs up, and the treehouse adds a fresh room with a table and pencils, where Sam begins to smile and draw.

As Lila, Omar, Priya, Max, Leo and Aisha arrive, the treehouse keeps growing with spiral staircases, balconies, colored windows, reading nooks and slides, until it becomes a maze where the children lose their way. They decide to bring order: Theo draws a map, Maya sets rules, June greets everyone and Sam paints signs, so each newcomer is welcomed and included.
