Sophie visits a village unlike any she has known. In Openbrook, every house is round and brightly painted, yet none has a front door. People move whole walls aside, climb rope ladders to rooftops, or slip through trapdoors into tunnels below. Her grandfather, Grandpa Ollis, lives there and only chuckles when she asks where anyone goes in. Her new friend Mira, a girl in teal overalls, proudly demonstrates how each house has its own way of being entered, while Sophie's little dog Pip squeezes through tunnels and up ladders beside her.
Sophie keeps bumping her head and losing her way, and she starts to miss ordinary doorknobs. This gentle tale by Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN follows her from puzzlement toward understanding, as curiosity and friendship help her see that a tradition which looks odd from the outside can carry real wisdom within. The story can be read on Online Masal.
