Tilly the tortoise lives in a cozy burrow beneath a willow tree, wearing her lavender shawl and tiny round spectacles. One morning a letter arrives with a small golden key, telling her that her grandmother has left her a treasure chest. Tilly packs her satchel and sets off to Grandmother's old garden shed, where the dusty chest sits covered in cobwebs.

The lid is stuck fast, and no matter how hard she pushes and pulls, it will not budge. Help arrives in the form of Pip, a robin with an orange-red breast, who reminds her that two heads are better than one. Together they turn the key and lift the lid, uncovering not gold but a jumble of small, worn objects. Each item opens a memory, and Tilly begins to see her grandmother's brave, kind life in a new way. This gentle tale by Çınar BİBER can be read on Masalcı Baba.
