The Squirrel's Secret Calendar

In the middle of a large green forest, a small red squirrel named Pip finds a little calendar made of leaves tucked under a fallen leaf. Every page shows a woodland festival, and one page with a snowflake marks the First Snow Celebration, just seven days away. Pip has never heard of this festival, but the pictures of animals dancing and feasting under falling snow convince her that the forest must be made ready in time.

Pip asks her friends to help, giving each of them a task. Bramble the hedgehog gathers acorns, hazelnuts and berries and stores them in hollow logs. Willow the songbird decorates the trees with bright leaves and berry garlands and practices a cheerful song, while Oaken the rabbit builds wooden tables and keeps everyone on schedule. As the air grows colder, the friends work together and check the calendar each day. This gentle tale by Çınar BİBER about curiosity and cooperation can be read on Masalcı Baba.
