The Tiny King

High above a meadow, a giant sunflower holds a tiny kingdom ruled by King Pip, a monarch no taller than a sunflower seed. Proud of his crown, cape and tunic, Pip is convinced he knows everything about everything. Around him live shimmering flower fairies, hardworking beetles and Ladybug Lulu, who watches with curious eyes, while Fairy Fern keeps reminding him that a good king listens. Pip simply waves her words away.

When a strong wind rattles the sunflower's stem, Pip is certain he can handle it alone. Spider silk, a wall of twigs and a singing spell all fail, and his crown rolls toward the edge of a petal. This gentle tale by Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN follows a small kingdom as the wind grows fiercer, and it can be read on Online Masal. Suited to young readers and to anyone sharing a bedtime story about learning to listen.
