The Secret Tunnel

When the final bell rings, Maya, Leo and Sam linger on the empty playground to look into a curious draft coming from under the slide. Leo locates a loose paving stone, and beneath it the friends find a narrow tunnel that descends into the earth. Maya fastens her torch to her red backpack and maps their route as they crawl, Leo wonders aloud about underground worlds, and Sam keeps everyone steady with his satchel of snacks.

The passage brings them to a miniature railway and a little red train that carries them to a cave of shimmering stones, and beyond it a busy underground market lit by hanging lanterns. A collapse separates the three, and each must rely on his or her own strengths to find a way back. This gentle mystery by Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN can be read on Online Masal.
