Daniel, a curious boy with warm brown skin and curly black hair, visits his Grandpa Aldo on a rainy afternoon in a tall, twisty house. In the attic he finds a small brass key, and Grandpa Aldo tells him it opens something special while warning him to look before he leaps. Daniel climbs to the top of the house and discovers a narrow door that the key unlocks, revealing a room filled with doors of every size and color, each marked with a strange symbol.
Behind a bright yellow door, Daniel finds a garden of sunflowers, but the flowers grow taller and taller and the door vanishes behind him. Other doors lead to a village of book houses, a floating sky path, a singing jungle and a city under the sea, yet each door disappears once he leaves it. Lost and frightened, Daniel meets the Door-Keeper, who shows him the pattern of symbols above the doors. This tale by Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN can be read on Online Masal.
