In Noodle Town, spaghetti bridges cross winding streets, macaroni houses line up in rows, and giant pasta shells serve as streetlights after sunset. The villagers greet each other with smiles, proud of their wiggly, twirly home. At its heart lives Chef Benny, a curious nine-year-old cook with a tall white hat, a red neckerchief, and a lucky wooden spoon. His best friend is Pip, a plump yellow sparrow wearing a tiny red scarf, and the two explore every noodle corner together.
One afternoon the sky darkens and heavy rain falls. At first the villagers splash in puddles and laugh, but the spaghetti bridges soon sag, the macaroni walls turn soft, and the pasta shell lights flicker and dim. Mayor Macaroni and Baker Rosa watch with worry as the town droops. Remembering how dough sticks together when kneaded, Benny asks Baker Rosa what binds dough, then gathers the bakers and neighbors to mix a sticky paste and wrap the soft walls and bridges with extra strands.
