The Kangaroo's Lost Hat

In the sunny Australian bush, Kira the kangaroo hops out of her burrow wearing her favourite red sun hat with a yellow band. When a sudden breeze lifts the hat away, she searches under bushes, behind rocks, near the creek and around the gum tree, but it is nowhere to be found. Her ears droop and her heart thumps as she starts to fear the hat is gone forever.

Her friend Edna the echidna sees Kira's worried eyes and offers to help, reminding her that two pairs of eyes are better than one. Searching low through leaves and small holes, then high in a tall gum tree, Edna makes a surprising discovery. This gentle tale by Çınar BİBER explores friendship, generosity and seeing a problem from another point of view, and can be read on Masalcı Baba, whether aloud at bedtime or alone by children in the early years of reading.
