In a quiet forest nook, where ferns create gentle green curtains and mushrooms resemble small umbrellas, a hedgehog named Hazel lives. She enjoys putting on puppet shows behind a bush, murmuring her lines to herself, but her paws tremble whenever someone watches. One morning, her best friend Milo, a field mouse with a moss-green work apron full of tiny pockets, discovers her secret practice and decides she needs a proper stage. Together they construct a tiny theater from a curved piece of fallen bark, twig curtains, and a hand-lettered sign, and they gather soft moss for the audience to sit on.
The two friends make leaf invitations and invite their forest neighbors to share stories. Fern the rabbit, gentle in her lilac shawl, tells a tale about a moonbeam lost in a bluebell wood, while Pip the squirrel arrives with his whole family. Hazel and Milo craft puppets from acorns, feathers, and felt, and Hazel chooses a story close to her own heart: a little bird who is afraid to fly until she discovers the sky is full of friends. When the evening of the show arrives, Hazel's courage is tested in a way she never expected. This warm story by Çınar BİBER can be read on Masalcı Baba.
