One gray morning, a young boy finds a small hedgehog curled up beside the fence of his garden. Curious and wanting to help, he learns from his mother that these animals need safe routes to move about at night while searching for food and companions. Taking his green canvas satchel and notebook, he begins to map the gates and walls along his street, hoping to make small openings in the fences so the hedgehogs can travel without danger.
As the project takes shape, the boy asks his elderly neighbor and others on the street to join in, and each household cuts a little gap to link the gardens together. Along the way he picks up lessons about care and duty, including the need to check for sleeping hedgehogs beneath leaves or stones before digging. Written by Çınar BİBER, this gentle story can be read on Masalcı Baba and shows how shared effort and thoughtfulness for even the smallest creatures can change a neighborhood.
