The Girl and the Wild Ponies

On a bright, windy morning, Lily walks along a sandy beach with her mother, her yellow sun hat and red sneakers bright against the shore. Far off, a herd of wild ponies gallops at the water's edge, shaggy coats and long manes streaming in the sea wind. Lily longs to run up and pet them, especially a little foal with a white patch on its face, but her mother gently explains why wild ponies need their space.

Watching quietly from a safe distance on the warm sand, Lily begins to notice far more than she expected. This gentle tale by Aysel Banu YAVUZAL follows her discoveries and the lesson she writes down so others will remember it, a calm story about kindness, freedom and a mother's care for her curious daughter.
