In a village set among green hills, an old windmill with creaking sails produces odd sounds at night, and whispers claim the place is haunted. In truth, the mill is home to Casperton, a shy little ghost with a kind heart who only wants to be useful. Small as a child, with pale mint-white skin, soft amber eyes and a tiny blue apron full of pockets, he slips out while the village sleeps to mend loose fences, cracked buckets and wobbly wheelbarrows, always fearful of being seen. By morning the repairs are done, yet the mysterious noises leave the villagers uneasy.
One windy evening the windmill groans and stops, and with it the village's supply of flour for bread. Grandpa Otis, the mill keeper, reports that the machinery is broken, and worried neighbours gather without a clear answer. Watching from the mill window, Casperton whispers that he can help, but shyness holds him back until he decides the village must not go hungry. This gentle tale by Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN follows a small ghost's quiet courage and a curious girl named Milla. The story can be read on Online Masal.
