Daisy is a young deer with soft russet-brown fur, white spots along her back and a sea-blue scarf, who lives in a forest of tall green trees. Each morning she wonders what lies beyond the hills, and when she asks her friend Finn, a cheerful gull in a tiny red sailor's cap, whether he has ever seen the ocean, he invites her to come along and find out. Walking until the trees thin, Daisy sees the sea for the first time, stretching out like a sparkling blue blanket.

Just beyond the beach stands a tall white lighthouse with red stripes, and from its doorway comes a worried voice. Keeper Oakley, an old man with a bushy white beard, has lost his round spectacles and cannot see well enough to light the lamp. With evening fog rolling in and ships depending on the beam, Daisy and Finn search the ledges, the steps and the rocky path, retracing the keeper's morning walk as the fog creeps closer. This gentle tale by Çınar BİBER follows a small deer who turns curiosity into courage, and it can be read on Masalcı Baba.
