Ben has waited all week for Saturday, when he finally pulls on his red sneakers and heads to the animal sanctuary at the edge of town. There, caretaker Maya introduces him to Clover, a rescued goat with a shaggy white-and-grey coat and amber eyes. Clover loves to climb, yet her pen offers only one low stump, and Ben watches her try to scale a fence post before he suggests building her something more to explore.

In the tool shed, caretaker Sam shows Ben how to measure wood, mark boards with a pencil, and hammer nails safely. Ben's first nail bends sideways, but with encouragement from Sam and Maya he keeps trying until he gets it right. The tale, written by Aysel Banu YAVUZAL, follows the three platforms and gentle ramp they build together, and the small step Ben later measures for Clover.
