The Badger's Blue Umbrella

Bernard the badger takes his cornflower-blue umbrella everywhere, using it to shade his nose and keep drizzle off his fur. But the umbrella holds a secret: when someone needs shelter, it grows. This first becomes clear when a lost ladybug needs help crossing a puddle, and Bernard sees that his umbrella is truly special.

One afternoon, a fierce storm catches Bernard in the forest. He finds Pip the shrew shivering under a dripping fern and offers his umbrella, which expands to cover her. Soon Holly the rabbit and a family of beetles join them, and the umbrella becomes a giant blue tent where everyone stays dry and warm.
