Magic Shoes

Ben, a curious boy with messy brown hair, receives an unexpected present from Grandma Rose: bright blue sneakers with silver laces and a small moon charm. Grandma Rose explains that the shoes are magical and that tapping his heels three times will take him on a journey, though she also offers a warning he does not fully grasp at first: the best adventures are shared.

Tapping the heels carries Ben to floating islands, gardens of singing flowers and turquoise worlds beneath the water. Each place delights him, yet as he travels on, he starts to feel that something is missing, since no one is beside him to share what he sees. This tale by Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN explores imagination and the value of companionship, and it can be read on Online Masal.
