Eight-year-old Mia lives where the hills roll like green waves at the edge of a small town. Curious yet careful, she sets out to make a kite that will climb higher than any other, and with sky-blue paper, steady hands and a bright blue ribbon in her hair, the sapphire kite takes shape. Her little brother Leo bounces at her side while her father in his green flannel shirt and her mother in her mustard cardigan cheer her on, and on Windy Hill the kite meets the strongest wind of the year.
A gust carries the kite far over the hills, and Mia fears it is gone, along with the small camera she tied to its tail to glimpse new places. Her family waits with her until the kite swoops back into the grass with the camera still attached, and the photographs show a hidden valley between two hills. Mia wants to run there at once, but exploring, her father reminds her, takes planning. Written by Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN, this gentle tale of nature and small adventures can be read on Online Masal.
